Q: Where is the Theater Arts Program located?

A: The  Theater Arts Program is located at the  Lincoln School, 19 Kennard Road, in Brookline.  The Lincoln School is off of Route 9 and is also accessible by the T.  Our primary space is the beautiful, air conditioned auditorium in the Lincoln School. We also use some of the classrooms near the auditorium.

Q: Does it matter how much experience my child has in the arts?
A: Not at all! We encourage all children to join our program. Whether your child has had professional training or has never taken an acting class, our program is designed to meet the passions, interests, and skills of all children and help them to all shine and feel proud of their work in our program.

Q: Is it better to sign my child up for both sessions or just one?
A: We recommend that you do whatever is best for your schedule. Each session will involve a different original musical so children signing up for both sessions will be equally challenged and engaged! An extra effort will be made to help children who can only attend the second session to feel welcome quickly and easily!

Q: What are the qualifications of the teachers?
A: All of the faculty who are in our program have gone through a rigorous interview process. The teachers are all experienced with working with children in the arts.

Q: What is the ratio of adults to students?
A: There will be three groups of children. Each group will have at least one counselor and one teacher with the group at all times. There will be 12-18 children in each group. The groups will be divided by age.

Q: The age range for the program is 7-13 year olds. Do you accept children who are a year younger or older?

A:  While our program is geared to children ages 7-13, we have had campers who are 6 years old or 14 years old join us quite successfully.  As long as your child is okay with the fact that the majority of the children will be younger or older than your child, we are happy to support your child's theatrical interests and talents and help him/her feel comfortable.

Q:  My child is ___ years old. How many other children his/her age will be registered for the program?

A:  Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.  While it's hard to predict exactly how many children will register from each age group, we generally have a good number of children represented from each age group. We also work hard to ensure that all children are happy, making friends, and enjoying their experience regardless of age.

Q: When is the registration deadline?

A; While there is no official registration deadline, we do fill up pretty quickly.  The earlier you register, the more likely you will get a spot.  If you are applying for financial aide, you are more likely to receive a scholarship if you register early as funding does tend to run out towards the spring.

Q: What if I still have more questions?
A: No problem! We understand that choosing the best place and schedule for your child this summer is important. Feel free to email TheaterArtscamp@aol.com with any questions you have. We’re delighted to be of any assistance to you!
